Evaluation - Question 7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Evaluation - Question 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Photoshop - used to produce my magazine.
I have used this during my evaluation and production to show on screen developments.

I have used Flickr to describe the distribution of my magazine.

Apple Mac, used to complete the majority of my work on.

I have used Prezi in my evaluation and also in the early stages of magazine production to show my target audience.

SLR camera to take high quality photographs on.

iPhoto, used to download my photographs onto the computer.

Evaluation - Question 5. How did you attract/address your audience?

Evaluation - Question 4. Who would be the audience for your media product? Why?

I have drawn a representation of someone my magazine to be aimed at. I expect her to be the type of person due to the fact she is a student whom enjoys clubbing, her favourite singer is Drake and she seems like a party kind of person. 'Kirsty' and other people my audience would be targeted at would probably wear clothes that are fashionable, current, bright colours and lots of jewellery. Exclusive would be aimed at an audience fairly young, mainly around the ages sixteen to roughly twenty five. This is because of the articles featured inside it and also the types of clothes mentioned, such as the River Island competition.

Evaluation - Question 3. What kind of media institution might distribute your product and why?

Evaluation - Question 2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Posture - Both the celebrity (Rita Ora) and my model are stood in similar manners. Although Rita Ora is facing away from the camera, she looks as though she could be looking into another. Both of the ways they are stood give off the impression of confidence. My model is facing the camera side on; however looking directly into it, Rita Ora is facing the camera but looking away from it. Both these positions connotate the idea of attitude and being self-assured.

Angle - Both photos are taken from eye level shot. This gives the idea that the reader is looking directly at the models in both photos, however the direct eye contact from my model will help to appeal to the audience as it is as though she is looking right into their eyes.

Shot-type - Both photographs are of a similar shot type, a medium close-up and a mid shot. The idea these shots convey is that you are able to get close to the star, without actually being close to them. It enables the reader to see in detail what the artist is wearing, their make-up and their facial expression.
Lighting - The lighting in these photos differs, the lighting used on my photo gives the model a much warmer complexion, whereas the lighting on Rita Ora's photo seems quite cold. The effect of this lighting on my model makes her seem much more friendly and happy, whereas the lighting on Rita Ora seems colder and connotates the idea that she is more distant.

Facial expression - The facial expressions on both celebrities are very similar. Both are pouting, a thing in which seems to have suddenly come about and is popular with the younger teen age group. The use of a pout connotates attitude, confidence and also joking to some extent. My model is looking into the camera, however the direct eye contact can also make her seem moody. The way Rita Ora is looking away and pouting makes her seem quite diva-ish and could be perceived negatively to some.

Costume - I have dressed my model in an outfit which is quite popular for the moment. She is wearing a crop top which are popular during the summer months, with a chunky gold necklace. The use of this combination helps show the way RnB artists often dress in clothes and accessories that are popular of the time, as opposed to those that just wear things they like. The photo of Rita Ora however is quite revealing and could even be said to appeal to a smaller audience, as it could be taken as too inappropriate for a younger audience. This is due to the fact she is openly intended to look sexy.

Hair/make-up - Both artists have a similar hairstyle of medium length curls, this connotates to the audience the idea that they can look good without trying. Both artists have fairly natural make-up on, whilst although you can tell they are wearing it, do not have too much on. The make-up my model is wearing is quite a warm tone, whereas Rita Ora's looks quite smoky and provocative.

The representations of young people and gender shown throughout my magazine are portrayed through many things. One stereotype shown of young people is that they often follow trends. This is connotated by the costumes worn such as the chunky jewellery on the woman and Nike Blazers worn by the boy on the contents page.
The posture of the models connotates confidence and attitude, young people are often stereotyped to have both confidence and attitude. The facial expressions of both models help to support and show this. It is easy for the audience to relate to the models as photos have been took at eye level or slightly high angle.
Also helping to represent the audience it is aimed at is the hair and make-up. I have kept both models appearances fairly simple rather than dressy. This helps the audience to relate as if the models were dressed formally or very made-up it is not something they would be able to do themselves on a day to day basis.
In conclusion, I have represented the age group it is aimed at through the use of models who are young and current. This gives the audience something to identify and relate to.

Evaluation - Question 1. In what ways does your magazine use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
